Concrete Services in Madora Bay

Madora Bay is mostly newer estate housing running back from the coast, so the work here skews toward first pours rather than replacements — driveways on freshly handed-over blocks, alfresco slabs going in once the house is finished, and shed pads at the back. The ground is coastal sand, consistent enough across the estates but still needing the base worked to depth. We pour concrete in Madora Bay for driveways, alfrescos, pool surrounds and shed slabs, and on new builds we coordinate with the builder so the levels line up with the house.

  • First driveways — New driveways on handed-over estate blocks, sized and jointed for the ground and built to the crossover requirements.
  • Alfresco & patio slabs — Outdoor living areas poured to sit flush with the house floor, with the levels agreed before the date is booked.
  • Shed & garage pads — Pads set out from the shed manufacturer's plan so the hold-down bolts land where the shed actually needs them.

What's under Madora Bay

Ground conditions in Madora Bay

The base is the part you cannot fix once the concrete is down, so this is what we check before quoting anything here.

Consistent coastal sand

More uniform across the newer estates than the older suburbs, which makes the base spec predictable once we have checked the block.

Recently worked ground

Estate blocks carry fill from the original earthworks, and how well that was compacted varies — worth checking rather than assuming.

Coastal exposure

Close enough to the water that salt reaches the surface, so sealer choice and resealing intervals are set for the location.

Before you call

Madora Bay concrete questions

What people in Madora Bay most often ask us before getting a quote.

My block was only just handed over — is the ground ready?

Usually, but it is worth checking rather than assuming. Estate blocks carry fill from the original subdivision earthworks, and how well that was compacted varies from lot to lot. We check the ground before quoting, because a slab poured on fill that was never properly compacted will settle regardless of what goes on top of it.

Can you pour the alfresco flush with the house floor?

Yes, and that is the most level-critical outdoor pour we do. The tolerance is small, drainage still has to work within it, and anything set into the slab — posts, downpipes, future fixings — has to be agreed beforehand. We work the levels out with your builder rather than negotiating them on the day.

How soon after the house is finished should the driveway go in?

Once heavy vehicle traffic across the block has finished, otherwise a new driveway takes the punishment. Beyond that it is your call. We can pour before or after landscaping, though it is easier to get levels right against finished garden edges than to work backwards from them.
